Also known as ‘wild rue, esfand or harmal’, used in both medicinally and spiritual practices. Used as an incense, to purify the air as well as the mind. A red dye is obtained from the seed to dye carpets or wool.
Caution of health hazard of Rue Seed:Although the seed is used medicinally, purifying agent and as a condiment, it does contain hallucinogenic and narcotic alkaloids, inducing a sense of euphoria and releasing inhibitions can causes hallucinations and vomiting.
